AbilityOverDisability art show and reception

Updated: Mar 17, 2022

On March 7th, we kicked off Developmental Disabilities Acceptance Month with our sixth annual AbilityOverDisability art show and reception at the National Arts Club.

Hosted by Frank and Tessa Fellone and supported by RSM and Jackson Lewis, guests joined us to celebrate artwork created by Tracey, James, DJ, Jahlel, and Keron. They had a chance to mix and mingle while enjoying artwork done during the pandemic and then during their return to in-person programming.

"Your work is magical," stated one guest about Tracey's pieces. Another shared that it brought them a "sense of peace." Each composition highlighted the artists' thoughts and feelings.

The work done in these programs showcases the importance of art and art therapy. Thank you to all who were able to attend to support the people we serve.

Please enjoy photos of the evening and the videos of our artists in action.

The Gifted Artists, Creative Arts Therapy, JustImagine, and Respite programs are supported by Anonymous, FSC Foundation, McKeen Fund, The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, New York State Council of the Arts, TD Charitable Foundation, and the Sisters of Mercy.

Special thanks to all of our volunteers, Kevin Schattin-rapher, DVA Productions and the Land Gallery
